Someone should totally steal this idea and make a version that plugs into that. I used copper because it's the basic resource in my home planet, but you can farm any deposit with this system. 250 of that turns into 1000 chromatic metal. Find a planet with activated indium, farm it.
This mod is perfect for using that mod scripting engine thingy so it doesn't get out of date. If you want chromatic metal, there is a much better way. Modifies NMS_REALITY_GCRECIPETABLE and will conflict with any other mod that also targets this file. That's when I threw together this mod to reintroduce the Chromatic Expansion exploit. Okay, maybe I'm being hyperbolic about the sentiment around this, but I definitely did grunt disapprovingly, and I'm standing by that one. So anyway, I completely missed this exploit, and I was crying hysterically like a whiny little baby about it. Your mockery is the only way they'll learn. Laugh mockingly at their ridiculous hysteria. Shop Zollor 1 Pair Chromatic Metal Stainless Steel Chopsticks Non-slip Reus. Point at the small minded people crying and whining like little babies. Actually, people crying like whiny little babies about missing this exploit would probably be one of the top hits, based on what I found, because it got patched somewhere along the line. While you scan a planet as you’re gallivanting around in order to root out these.
The interwebs got all excited about this bug and the associated exploit, even christening it the "Chromatic Expansion". Chromatic metal is, well, essentially refined out of other metals in case the name didn’t already give it away. Some of the elements created more Chromatic Metal than the others depending on their rarity, with Indium being the most efficient. You could then turn right around and create more Chromatic Metal using 2 or less of the created elements at a net gain. You could use 1 unit of the element and 1 Chromatic Metal to create 4 of the source element. There was a bug that allowed you to create unlimited amounts of four elements - Copper, Indium, Emeril, and Cadmium.
